Analog_TV Component

The Analog_TV component provides the infrastructure necessary for applications to receive and display analog television.

In addition to TV display, this component supports the following functionality:

· Closed Captions

· ATVEF (Advanced Television Enhancement Forum) – Allows content creators to deliver enhanced programming.

· Reception of IP data

Configuring the Component

There are no configuration requirements for this component.

Design Issues

The Analog_TV component requires an analog tuner card and respective drivers. This component does not include a TV viewer application.

Components that have related functionality are: Digital_TV, Guide Store (Provides an object model for storing and retrieving information about programs, schedules and tuning), DVR (Digital Video Recording), DVD, and Teletext.
