| Local Computer Management Snap-in | Framework that supports the Manage verb on the My Computer object. Note that this is only the framework; the actual individual management functions are extension add-ins, some of which are in this component and some are in others. |
| Event Viewer Snap-in | Allows the user to view the event logs on the system. |
| Local Users and Groups Snap-in | Allows the user to manage local users, groups, and the permissions and authentication thereof. |
| Object Selection Dialog | A reusable dialog that allows the user to select security principals from the local machine, domain, forest, and trusted forests/domain, depending on the application. Also known as Object Picker. |
| Basic AD Property Pages | Small set of basic Property Pages for use by applications that access Active Directory (AD) objects. |
| Sharing Tab | The Sharing property page for managing the sharing and access of folders. |
| File Share Management Snap-in | Allows the user to manage shared folders on a machine. |
| Services Snap-in | Allows the user to manage Services, their start-up settings and dependencies. |
