About Terminal Server Client

Using the Terminal Server Client, you can log on to a Windows NT server that has the Terminal Server software installed and use all programs available on the Windows NT computer. For example, instead of running Microsoft Pocket Word, you can run the desktop version of Microsoft Word.

Connecting to a Terminal Server
  1. Select Start > Programs > Terminal Server Client.
  2. In the Server box, type or select a Terminal Server name or TCP/IP address, or select a server in the Available Servers box.
  3. If you are connecting with a modem or a slow network, select Low Speed Connection.
  4. Select Connect.
  5. Inside the Terminal Server Client window, type your user name, password, and domain (if required), and then select OK.

Note  If you previously disconnected from a Terminal Server without ending the session, the Terminal Server Client reconnects to that session (if your administrator has configured Terminal Server Client to reconnect to disconnected sessions).
Disconnecting Without Ending a Session
  1. In the Terminal Server Client window, select Start > Shutdown.
  2. Select Disconnect > OK.
Note  If your administrator has configured Terminal Server Client to reconnect to disconnected sessions, you will be reconnected to this session the next time you connect to this server.
Disconnecting and Ending a Session
  1. In the Terminal Server Client window, select Start > Shutdown.
  2. Select Log Off > OK.
