dec144f172 Extend Java RocksDB iterators to support indirect Byte Buffers (#9222)
Summary:
Extend Java RocksDB iterators to support indirect byte buffers, to add to the existing support for direct byte buffers.
Code to distinguish direct/indirect buffers is switched in Java, and a 2nd separate JNI call implemented to support indirect
buffers. Indirect support passes contained buffers using byte[]

There are some Java subclasses of iterator (WBWIIterator, SstFileReaderIterator) which also now have parallel JNI support functions implemented, along with direct/indirect switches in Java methods.

9e6f3efcd2 Add RocksIterator::Refresh (#6573)
Summary:
This PR exposes the `Iterator::Refresh` method to the Java API by adding it on the `RocksIteratorInterface` interface. There are three concrete implementations: `RocksIterator`, `SstFileReaderIterator`, and `WBWIRocksIterator`. For the first two cases, the JNI side simply delegates to the underlying `Iterator::Refresh` method; in the last case, as it doesn't share an ancestor, and per the discussion in https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/issues/3465, a `Status::NotSupported` exception is thrown.

As the last PR had no activity in a while, I'm opening a new one - I'm completely fine with merging the previous PR if it gets completed before this is reviewed.

Let me know if there's anything missing or anything else I can do 👍

fdf882ded2 Replace namespace name "rocksdb" with ROCKSDB_NAMESPACE (#6433)
Summary:
When dynamically linking two binaries together, different builds of RocksDB from two sources might cause errors. To provide a tool for user to solve the problem, the RocksDB namespace is changed to a flag which can be overridden in build time.
Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/pull/6433

Test Plan: Build release, all and jtest. Try to build with ROCKSDB_NAMESPACE with another flag.

e412a426d6 JNI direct buffer support for basic operations (#2283)
Summary:
It is very useful to support direct ByteBuffers in Java. It allows to have zero memory copy and some serializers are using that directly so one do not need to create byte[] array for it.

This change also contains some fixes for Windows JNI build.

044a71e27e Add iterator's SeekForPrev functionality to the java-api
Summary:
As discussed in #2742 , this pull-requests brings the iterator's [SeekForPrev()](https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/wiki/SeekForPrev) functionality to the java-api. It affects all locations in the code where previously only Seek() was supported.

All code changes are essentially a copy & paste of the already existing implementations for Seek().
**Please Note**: the changes to the C++ code were applied without fully understanding its effect, so please take a closer look. However, since Seek() and SeekForPrev() provide exactly the same signature, I do not expect any mistake here.

The java-tests are extended by new tests for the additional functionality.

Compilation (`make rocksdbjavastatic`) and test (`java/make test`) run without errors.

c6d464a9da Fixed various memory leaks and Java 8 JNI Compatibility
Summary:
I have manually audited the entire RocksJava code base.

Sorry for the large pull-request, I have broken it down into many small atomic commits though.

My initial intention was to fix the warnings that appear when running RocksJava on Java 8 with `-Xcheck:jni`, for example when running `make jtest` you would see many errors similar to:

```
WARNING in native method: JNI call made without checking exceptions when required to from CallObjectMethod
WARNING in native method: JNI call made without checking exceptions when required to from CallVoidMethod
WARNING in native method: JNI call made without checking exceptions when required to from CallStaticVoidMethod
...
```

A few of those warnings still remain, however they seem to come directly from the JVM and are not directly related to RocksJava; I am in contact with the OpenJDK hostpot-dev mailing list about these - http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/hotspot-dev/2017-February/025981.html.

As a result of fixing these, I realised we were not r

767777c2bd Turn on -Wshorten-64-to-32 and fix all the errors
Summary:
We need to turn on -Wshorten-64-to-32 for mobile. See D1671432 (internal phabricator) for details.

This diff turns on the warning flag and fixes all the errors. There were also some interesting errors that I might call bugs, especially in plain table. Going forward, I think it makes sense to have this flag turned on and be very very careful when converting 64-bit to 32-bit variables.

ab3e566699 [Java] Generalize dis-own native handle and refine dispose framework.
Summary:
1. Move disOwnNativeHandle() function from RocksDB to RocksObject
to allow other RocksObject to use disOwnNativeHandle() when its
ownership of native handle has been transferred.

2. RocksObject now has an abstract implementation of dispose(),
which does the following two things. First, it checks whether
both isOwningNativeHandle() and isInitialized() return true.
If so, it will call the protected abstract function dispose0(),
which all the subclasses of RocksObject should implement. Second,
it sets nativeHandle_ = 0. This redesign ensure all subclasses
of RocksObject have the same dispose behavior.

3. All subclasses of RocksObject now should implement dispose0()
instead of dispose(), and dispose0() will be called only when
isInitialized() returns true.

61955a0dda [Java] Add RocksObject, the base class of all java objects with a c++ pointer.
Summary:
Add RocksObject, the base class of all java objects which has a c++ pointer.
While the finalizer of a RocksObject will release its c++ resource, it is
suggested to call its RocksObject.dispose() to manually release its
c++ resource.

Existing RocksDB java classes are now extending RocksObject.
