Summary: These methods allow for more thorough testing of the ObjectRegistry and Customizable infrastructure in a simpler manner. With this change, the Customizable tests can now check what factories are registered and attempt to create each of them in a systematic fashion. With this change, I think all of the factories registered with the ObjectRegistry/CreateFromString are now tested via the customizable_test classes. Note that there were a few other minor changes. There was a "posix://*" register with the ObjectRegistry which was missed during the PatternEntry conversion -- these changes found that. The nickname and default names for the FileSystem classes was also inverted. This directory contains interfaces and implementations that isolate the rest of the package from platform details. Code in the rest of the package includes "port.h" from this directory. "port.h" in turn includes a platform specific "port_<platform>.h" file that provides the platform specific implementation. See port_posix.h for an example of what must be provided in a platform specific header file.
