Summary: When I debug the unit test failures when enabling background flush thread, I feel the function names can be made clearer for people to understand. Also, if the names are fixed, in many places, some tests' bugs are obvious (and some of those tests are failing). This patch is to clean it up for future maintenance. Test Plan: Run test suites.
