Marks message history as read.
### Parameters:
| Name | Type | Description | Required |
|----------|---------------|-------------|----------|
|peer|[Username, chat ID, Update, Message or InputPeer](../types/InputPeer.md) | Target user or group | Optional|
|max\_id|[int](../types/int.md) | If a positive value is passed, only messages with identifiers less or equal than the given one will be read | Yes|
### Return type: [messages.AffectedMessages](../types/messages.AffectedMessages.md)
### Can bots use this method: **NO**

|400|PEER_ID_INVALID|The provided peer id is invalid|
|-503|Timeout|Timeout while fetching data|
